Step one
a video to promote  a video game
Step twoThis commercial is to promote a video game. The company Treyarch owns the rights to the commercial and the game which is called Call of Duty: Black Ops.
Step three
The video is to entertain and persuade people to play their game
The supposed intended audience is adults over 18 but basically any gamer which includes a lot of teenagers.
This video will appeal to people who like violence and excitement but it is also entertaining because of the normal looking adults.
I find this video sort entertaining because it shows obvious civilians fighting with skill when in reality they wouldn’t be able to do such things without proper training.
Step four This commercial is instigating anyone can be violent or everyone is able to be violent “it’s easy look at these people do it?” Then again they could be applying that concept towards there video game “its totally easy look at these people play they look like they’re having fun right?” In the end it depends on the perspective of the consumer and from different perspectives a gamer teenager would be excited and would already have plans to buy it even though the game is rated for adults only.
Step fiveThis is a commercial that was played a lot on the internet because a lot of people were excited and waiting . Techniques to grab the attention of the audience with humor and special effects.
Step sixI think this commercial was very successful in its attempt to persuade consumers considering in the games release on November 9, 2010, within 24 hours they sold 7million copies worldwide and after the five day mark making $650 million. Thus setting a world record and by December 22, 2010 earing about $1 billion. Call of Duty: Black Ops still continues selling and to continue making money they also sell add-ons. I do not believe that all this success is from this one commercial but I do believe that this company is intense when it comes to advertising there stuff.
Step sevenThis commercial was broadcasted onto commercials and into ads on the internet. It was shared through Facebook and links from friends.
Step eightThis advertisement has amused me and probably others but it also raises questions like : Who is this really intended for adults or underage gamers? Is this promoting violence? Why does this constitute as entertainment? I'm not quite sure but people need to be aware of what they are watching as a consumer.
